Nicole Stinson

Nicole Stinson is a 3rd year student in the Advertising and Public Relations program at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rochester, N.Y.

Stinson was born in 1995 in Concord, N.C. She earned an associate of science in business administration and an associate of general education degree from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College (RCCC) in 2017.

Stinson began her educational career by graduating from A.L. Brown High School cum laude in Kannapolis, N.C. (where she was raised), in 2013. In 2014, she started at RCCC to further her education as a first-generation college student. In 2015, she was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society – Beta Tau Theta chapter and made the dean’s list. In 2017, she made the dean’s list again and graduated from RCCC with honors in both degrees.

Stinson transferred to RIT to begin an international education focused on public relations, but not before considering 14 other schools in the process. In 2017, she made the dean’s list. After her time at RIT, Stinson will be on track to begin an international career in the nonprofit sector or in the fashion industry. Frequently cited as her motivation, she believes that “success favors the prepared mind”. Maintaining a meaningful and fulfilling career is important for her—being good at something isn’t enough for Stinson; she leads with passion and commitment.

Stinson can be found on campus discussing ways to support first-generation and non-traditional students.
